Shopping the stash: collection 2000 colour match foundation & MAC viva glam gaga lipstick

Hi everyone <3

In the next few weeks I will be doing two new series on my blog. One of them was inspired by the popular "Shopping the stash" posts which I'm sure you have seen, however instead of selecting products that I haven't used in a while to start adding into my FOTD's, I will be rediscovering some old favourites and doing mini-reviews on them. So although I haven't chosen these items to use all week, they are products which I love and simply were forgotten about. Doing these little reviews on them makes me realize how much I do actually like them and I will be (hopefully) using them more now!

This is my first Shopping the stash, enjoy!

Collection 2000 are a drug store brand (rebranded as collection cosmetics) and you can find their products in boots and superdrug at low prices. Their make up isn't tested on animals which is always a plus in my book. This foundation is their colour match foundation, which is an old favourite of mine. I used to use this foundation as my every day foundation before I started using Revlon photo ready and many others. Even though I really love this foundation and it's great for my skin, I seem to have forgotten about this old classic.

As you can tell, this definitely is an old favourite because I already have a new one repurchased. The old one on the right hand side was dug out from the very bottom of my make up collection! I think it needs a wipe... or a bin...

Brand new one, discovered in my make up collection!

Lasting perfecting foundation promises a liquid foundation with a flawless, natural finish that provides a light weight feeling with oxygen complex to let the skin breathe. It claims to have skin tone technology to match your skin tone but with a price tag of only £5.99 it seems a bit too good to be true and leaves me wondering whether it is just a shade that could pretty much suit the majority of people.

You may have heard of the colour match technology before, I know LO'real do a colour match foundation amongst many other brands and their foundations are more expensive. I'm pale, so it's difficult for me to find foundations that suit me perfectly. I usually find myself mixing foundations and using lighter colour concealers and powders on top of my foundation because it is just a tad too dark but the shade below that is too light. So, in my mind, if a foundation has the ability to change colour to match my skin, I'm going to give it a go! The first time I ever tried this foundation I was skeptical about the whole "colour match technology" because I'd tried others in the past that claimed to do that but didn't 100% suit my skin tone. This foundation, though, is the closest I've found to matching my skin colour. I can wear this alone as a base with some blush and be ready to go on those days where I can't be bothered to put a whole face of make up on, or when I'm feeling like my face isn't too bad with blemishes that need covering up.

The texture is thick and gives a medium coverage for me. It is heavier than, say, compared to the LO'real lumi magique foundation and doesn't give a dewy glow or lighten up the face. It is an every day, easy to wear, promising foundation that can be applied quickly and with little fuss.

This is with GOSH primer & collection 2000 colour match foundation only. No concealer, blush, bronzer, eye make up etc. This is natural lighting also. I applied it with a flat kabuki brush.

I find the coverage lasts a few hours but is definitely not a long lasting foundation. I usually wear this as a base, or just if I am hanging around the house or running some quick errands etc. I wouldn't recommend this for long day wear, party looks but it is a nice, easy, promising foundation that I'm glad I rediscovered because it feels really nice on my skin.

The packaging is okay but nothing special in my eyes, the glass bottle gives the illusion of a more expensive foundation but it is heavy, chunky and the pump doesn't work so well. I don't think there is more control over how much foundation comes out due to how hard you press, sometimes I feel like the pump is just not pressing down but then it will splurt out. This isn't really an issue though because I never find a lot of liquid comes out at once and there is never much left over. Because it is so light weight and a great base as well, you can definitely use any excess.

Price: £5.99
Repurchase?: Yes!
Flawless, natural finish?: I wouldn't say flawless, but it covers my blemishes and evens out my skin tone without looking heavy and it definitely looks natural I think!
Oxygen complex that "lets the skin breathe"?: Yes, my face feels light similar to wearing only a BB cream.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lustre lipstick

A very old product in my lipstick stash and something I have definitely forgotten about! I believe I got this 2 years ago... I honestly can't remember. I was a huge Lady Gaga fan at the time and my boyfriend bought me this for christmas. This shade of baby pink is not one of my favourites when it comes to lipstick but that is my personal choice; I just feel like a little kid wearing these sorts of colours.

It smells gorgeous and applies like a dream as you would expect from MAC lipsticks. It is very moisturizing and stays moisturizing for a few hours. It doesn't taste too bad either! Lol. There is nothing much to say about this, I don't think it suits me all that much and I will wear it in the spring/summer, it's just a shame that I never get use out of this because it's a lovely gift and I really do love the lipstick itself I'm just not a fan of the shade.

 What do you think?

Price: £13.50, you can probably pick this up for cheaper from eBay.
Repurchase?:  No, but I am going to try and use it more often.

Thanks for reading! If you have recently started to follow me and read my blog, thanks so much <3
